What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international goals to achieve a sustainable and better world by 2030, as stated in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted at a UN summit in September 2015. The SDGs consist of 17 goals and 169 targets, and pledge to "leave no one behind" around the globe. The SDGs are universal, meaning that they apply not only to developing countries but to developed countries themselves, and Japan is actively working at a national level toward their achievement.


Initiatives for SDGs

The corporate mission of Shibaura Electronics is is to protect the global environment, contribute to the improvement of life, and promote the culture and happiness of people around the world., and we believe that this is consistent with the direction of the SDGs. Through our business activities, we will continue to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

We will contribute to solving environmental problems by promoting the use of our products in energy-saving products such as automobiles and home appliances.

8 Decent work and economic growth

We will proactively work to create a pleasant working environment by reducing overtime and working towards the improvement development of various laws.
We will also improve productivity through automation of factories.

17 Partnerships for the goals

In cooperation with customers, suppliers, universities, and other parties, we contribute to the improvement of the social environment by promoting safer and more earth-friendly products.
