Announcement for the start of operation at the temporary facility in Bangkok to cope with the flooding at the Ayutthaya facility in Thailand. (25-Nov-2011)

As previously reported, the Ayutthaya facility of Thai Shibaura Denshi Co., Ltd has still been suspended in operation due to the serious flooding that attacked the Saha Rattana Nakon Industrial Park where our facility is located.
According to the latest news, water level is decreasing, but access to the premise is still prohibited. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have in delivery or others.

In addition to the facilities in Singburi-Thailand, Shanghai and Dongguan-China, a temporary facility in Bangkok on Rama II Road has started its back-up production for the Ayutthaya facility. The facility has three stories and its 1st and 3rd floors are utilized. We believe it is unlikely to be flooded because its 1st floor is at 1.5 m high from the ground. By January 2012 when its operation gets on track, Shibaura’s total production capacity is expected to reach to the pre-disaster level. Moreover, a new building of two stories is planned to be constructed in the premise of Singburi facility by the Spring 2012.

As for production and delivery of our products, Shibaura is fully committed to utilize all our group resources. We appreciate your kind understanding and support.

For further information, please contact your local sales representatives.

Sincerely,

Hiroyuki Hashikura
