E2M-312-IT1

E2M-312-IT1 Suggested applications
  • Temperature sensing in microwave ovens
  • Protection of heaters from over-heating

    Advantages
  • Fast response; 25% faster compared to Shibaura’s conventional PTM-312-M12 protecting pipe
  • Dielectric strength of 1,800V
  • Easy installation with a single M3 screw

A number of options are available:
  • Lead wires: a variety of lead wires are available; contact Shibaura for more information (selection must be made from UL Recognized Components)
  • Protecting pipe: a 15.5mm pipe* is available instead of the standard 10.5mm protecting pipe
  • Wire connecting section: lengths from 9mm to 55mm are available (*when the 15.5mm pipe is used, the maximum wire length is 50mm)
  • Connectors and housings: a variety of connectors and housings are available; contact Shibaura for more information (selection must be made from UL Recognized Components, rated at 65℃ or higher)
  • Insulation tube: from UL Recognized Components, rated VW-1
  • Locking cable tie: from UL Recognized Components, shrink tube can also be fixed by request

    Reliability testing: other rating
Normal operations cannot be guaranteed if the following parameters are exceeded
    Mechanical strength tests
Lead tensile strengthprotecting pipe is fixed; 20N of straight pulling force is gradually applied to lead wires (two wires together), then held for 10 seconds.
Lead wire Bending testprotecting pipe is fixed; lead wires are bent 90° to the right for 5 seconds, then 90° to the left for 5 seconds, repeated 5 times.
Falling testFree drop from height of 75cm onto a 15 x 15cm oak board 3cm or greater in thickness.
    Environmental resistance tests
Heat resistance1,000 hours at 310℃ ±5℃ (from flange to tip)
Cold resistance500 hours at -20℃ ±5℃ (from flange to tip)
Moisture resistance500 hours in air at 40℃ ±2℃, relative humidity 90 to 95% (from flange to tip)

Instructions for handling, installation and use of thermistors
Please carefully follow these instructions to avoid damage and/or faulty operation of the thermistors:
    1.Never exceed maximum rated power.
2.When the thermistor is used as a sensor for the control of a device, be sure to incorporate appropriate safety measures to prevent accidents, such as a separate safety circuit or back-up sensor.
3.. If the thermistor will be exposed within the device, an instruction to end users warning that the thermistor must not be touched must be included.
4.Ensure that the thermistor is not placed into the mouth or eyes; keep away from children and pets.
5.Use of thermistors in the following conditions may degrade thermistor function or lifespan; the customer must make their own checks of performance and reliability:
  • Presence of corrosive gases, such as C12, NH3, SOx, NOx
  • Environment with high electric conductivity, such as electrolytes, water, saltwater, etc.
  • Presence of acids, alkalis or organic solvents
  • Dusty or dirty environments
  • When thermistors are resin sealed or resin coated
  • 6.When disposing of thermistors, treat them as industrial waste and observe all applicable laws and regulations.
7.The thermistor is not waterproof, so the area from the flange to the lead wire end must be kept from dew, condensation or other moisture.
